Fossil Flip Thursday Anniversary

At the end of this working week its the anniversary of Fossil Flip Thursday! I am thinking of writing the book"my life of flipping fossils."On October 19th 2017 last year i flipped a fossil to show the reverse side.This showed what the rock was like it was fossilized in .So many people have asked me"how do you know if there is a fossil embedded in a rock?"or "how do you know what rocks to look in?"Well showing off nodule shapes and forms and colours is one way to get your eye in.The best tools are your eyes when looking for the right fossiliferous rocks along the Jurassic Coast.So many people just hammer the rocks into the next century instead of patiently persevering looking along the beach.We are here to save fossils and preserve them -not destroy them.The sea is best at breaking apart the beautiful fossils along the Jurassic Coast .The sea destroys what it reveals so your best to pick up the curiosities quick at lowtide.See us @lymeregisfossils on Instagram for #fossilflipthursday  we post every Thursday a fossil from the Jurassic Age!
