There are some extra large Spring tides on the South Coast this week .Mary Anning ( 1799-1847) was the famous fossil hunting lady of Lyme Regis. She would have had it in mind to be making the most of the fossil collecting during the Spring tides - in her time . The low tide time would have given her ample opportunity to make the most of the fossil collecting . All the beach would have been exposed as the sea lowered by a substantial amount. She would have stayed away from the dangerous cliffs . Her little dog called Tray got killed in a landslide. Mary Anning knew all to well just how dangerous the cliffs were at Lyme Regis. Hopefully, there will be some good fossil finds for people having a search for them along the Jurassic Coast this week -at low tide .
