The fossil hunting in September has been very poor along the Jurassic Coast. Many thousands of people have walked the beaches around low tide at Lyme Regis to look for fossils this Summer. The weather has been so dry this September that the fossils are not being eroded out of the mudslides, which are baked hard and dry by the sun. I am starting the guided fossil walks back up in the coming Winter months. There will be less competition on the beach with far fewer people looking for fossils in stormy weather.
