The cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Beware of the dangerous cliffs along the Jurassic Coast! We have experienced a long dry spell this Summer of 2025, along the Jurassic Coast ! The cliffs will be very dry and 'crumbly' and when the Autumn rain gets into the cliffs they will fall down. There will be cracks and fissures in the cliffs from the long dry spell and intense sun. When the rain gets into the cracks and fissures the pressure will build and lumps of the cliffs will fall off, smashing down onto the beach. This is my fossil shop at Lyme Regis, in the photo. Come in and see me at the shop for up to date information about the tide times and the fossil collecting. I leave a note in the shop window of my opening times and my mobile phone number. So see you one day at 7 Drake`s Way, Lyme Regis, Dorset DT7 3QP ! I also take out guided fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast at low tide to look for fossils, my fossil walks get booked up quickly in advance!!!!

Fantastic Fossil Photos On Instagram .A few weeks ago i joined Instagram. This is a service that allows users to share pictures and videos either publicly or privately.A good number of "fossilists"have shared some wonderful photographs of their fossil finds on Instagram.
Recently i uploaded an ammonite nodule,i had found when out fossil collecting. The fossil is filmed with the round part of the nodule showing in my hand.I then flip the stone over to reveal the ammonite inside the stone.I stipulate in the video description that" i can`t believe its flipping Thursday already."Its certainly true the weeks just fly by these days. The ammonite flipping phase certainly seems to be growing on Instagram every Thursday. If the trend continues in the next weeks the Fossil Flip Thursday Hashtag should see a lot more entries. I have told people that flipping your fossil over a bed or cushion is good practice.Luckily so far i have managed to catch all my fossil specimens. Please follow us on Instagram @brandonfossils and you can see all our fossil videos there. The video directly below this text is one of the nodules that i have also shared on YouTube for people to view.
